2012 toyota venza review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. It's more utilitarian than an ordinary car, yet it's smaller and lower than an suv. Venza seats five and comes with premium equipment and attributes normally associated with suvs. the venza is built on the platform of the previous-generation (2007-2011) camry, and is assembled in the same plant in georgetown, kentucky. but the venza is more than an upscale, contemporary rendition of a camry station wagon. The venza is more original than that, and more functional, loaded with a mix of highly evolved features and fresh design ideas. It's a family car, a good daily runabout that's easy to drive and park. And it's highly useful, for moving people, pets and grocery-getting. We found it spacious and comfortable. The v6 is rated at 268 horsepower and 246 pound-feet of torque and is rated at 18/25 mpg with all-wheel drive. on the road, the venza feels like a car. It rides smoothly and quietly and steers easily. We were impressed with its stability on slippery roads, whether equipped with all-wheel drive or not. All three grades come with front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive 1450). Standard audio is a six-speaker am/fm/6cd/mp3/wma system with satellite radio, bluetooth hands-free phone and music streaming, usb port with ipod connectivity, auxiliary audio jack and auto sound leveling. An le convenience package 750) adds a power liftgate and a rearview camera. Also standard on the xle is a multi-information display that can be customized to adjust the font size and content. The xle premium package 2,130) includes the panoramic roof with moonroof, and a 13-speaker jbl synthesis surround-sound system that retains all the input options and connectivity features of the standard audio setup. Toyota's star safety system comes standard and includes vehicle stability control (vsc) and traction control (trac) systems with a cutoff switch, plus antilock brake system (abs) with electronic brake-force distribution (ebd) and brake assist. A tire-pressure monitor system and child protector rear door locks are standard. walkaroundsmooth, fluid lines and aerodynamic sculpting characterize the toyota venza, which is slightly shorter and lower overall than most crossover suvs. viewed from the front, a high, wide grille that flows into flame-shaped headlamps functions to accentuate the wide stance of the car. The combination of lamp types gathered in the headlamp clusters, contrasted with the simple. Separate fog lamps below, creates a crisp, technical feeling. in profile, the venza appears sleek and contemporary, thanks to low rocker panels and narrow doorsills, much more like a car than a suv. In keeping with the ft-sx concept vehicle that inspired the design, the wheels are placed out at the corners of the body, snugly positioned in the wheelwells, and there is minimal overhang on either end. the 20-inch wheels of the v6 versions become especially prominent, suggesting something surefooted in everyday driving, even sporty on a winding road. The end result is to convey the impression of a smart, modern, practical car. Most of all, the design conveys toyota's long-view dna, a way of saying that none of the venza's visual elements are cliches likely to become dated or out of style during the life of the car. interiorthe toyota venza is intended to be a refined, potentially luxurious alternative to a five-passenger sedan while offering more cargo and passenger space. So the interior has been endowed with an unusual mix of qualities, selected to combine the easy-to-drive attributes of a premium car with high-utility flexibility of an suv. keyless entry allowed us to just walk up to the venza and hop in; all five doors unlock at one touch (if programmed that way). The venza is easy to get into, because the step-in height is quite low, same as a camry, while the higher roofline makes entry easier for taller people. Once in the seat, we pressed the start button and the instrument panel came to life, brightly lit and highly visible. Less noticeable is the sound of the engine because the venza is very quiet at idle. seat quality is appropriate for a car that might convey a family and their pets on long-distance drives. The cushion length and seat back width are designed for comfort, and there is just enough side bolstering to allow for side-to-side support when the driving is more spirited. The seating position is a tad higher than the average car, more like a minivan, which affords easier visibility of the road ahead. It takes only a moment to adjust for legroom and seat angle, set the mirrors, and select drive. from the inside, the feeling is of spaciousness, especially in the front row. Both include a nicely textured dash. The cloth interior makes use of carbon-fiber accents for a high-tech appearance, while the leather interior has wood-grain accents to achieve a clean, modern take on classical materials. Both convey the look and feel of quality. The shift lever is canted slightly to the driver's side. Whether cloth or leather, the interior color is either ivory or light gray, depending on the exterior paintwork. the instrument cluster prioritizes an oversized speedometer, which is at the center of the cluster, with a slightly smaller tachometer to the left. Semi-circular fuel and temperature gauges are smaller and located to the right. The shift position indicator is a modest led display at center. The instruments look good, are bright enough even when the sun hits them directly, and pleasing at night. twisting stalks for lights, wipers and washers, and cruise control are mounted on the steering wheel. the center console is designed to be simple, clean, and uncluttered. It contains low-relief, soft-touch controls for the information center, the audio system and the hvac (heating/air conditioning) system. The console has a soft armrest cover over an unusually deep storage area, which is highly organized.

Its on-road handing is responsive, its off-road capability is proven. The double cab delivers more rear-seat comfort than most of the competition, with enough room to rival a small sedan. There are no other changes for 2008. For 2007, toyota upgraded the front seats for enhanced interior comfort, while chrome-rimmed instruments and new audio head units brightened its two-tone instrument panel. compact pickups aren't what they used to be. For one thing, they're no longer compact. Nor are they uncomfortable. They're more comfortable and more capable than ever before. lineupthe 2008 toyota tacoma is available in 18 different configurations, including regular cab, access cab (extended cab) and double cab (crew cab) body styles. Big headlights and a bold grille highlight the tacoma's front end. Flush rear surface glass and flush surface structures between the bumper sides and body give it a polished look. The lower dash and console are a lighter color than the main upper dash, brightening the interior. Chrome rings surround the three clustered gauges. Not everyone loves the perforated silver plastic used for the center stack. But the cloth upholstery is decent and the seats look nice. in fact, toyota made the tacoma's seats bigger last year, which was an improvement. The manually adjustable seats include lumbar adjustment but no adjustment for seat height or the angle of the seat bottom, whereas the power seats on the nissan frontier have these features. overall, the tacoma provides the driver with a good driving position. Big mirrors afford a good view to the rear. solid cup holders are provided in the center console area. On models that don't have sport seats, the front passenger's seatback flips down to form a tray table or to make room for long objects, a handy feature. Big rotary knobs make it easy to adjust cabin temperature even with gloves on; the knobs are electronic, so they're easy to twist. The radio is fully integrated into the upper center stack and it's easy to operate. Cds sound good through the jbl speakers. Models with automatics come with a foot-operated parking brake. the rear seats in the tacoma double cab are particularly comfortable for the class, offering good legroom and shoulder room and decent headroom. The seatback is angled back slightly, making it more comfortable than the overly upright rear seats in some other compact pickups. In a back-to-back comparison test, we found the back seats of the tacoma more comfortable than those in the frontier. The rear windows even go all the way down. the rear-seat area in the double cab is also good for carrying cargo. The seat is split 60/40. Camry sales topped 10 million in 2013, coincidentally the nameplate's 30th anniversary. One in five toyotas sold in the u. Is a camry. clearly, the camry appeals to a large and broad audience. Toyota claims the camry is the safest, quietest, most fuel-efficient car in its class, and we have no reason to doubt those claims. camry is an attractive car, with clean sides and nice edges. Benefitting from the latest impact energy management engineering, it's built on a rigid chassis using a lot of high-strength steel and ultra high-strength steel. the interior is nice, the dashboard neat and stylish, the instrument panel pretty and functional. That expands the 2014 toyota camry lineup to seven models, from the stripped-down camry l to the sport-tuned se to two versions of the environmentally friendly camry hybrid. The 3. 5-liter v6 produces 268 horsepower. Toyota boasts a range of almost 600 miles. The v6 delivers stronger torque, so it's more powerful and more responsive around town in addition to being smoother. the tuned suspension in the sporty camry se might be too firm for some. We did not find the camry se uncomfortable, but we did find the softer camry xle more relaxing around town. We preferred camry se's tighter steering in all circumstances. camry hybrid uses a 2. 5-liter atkinson cycle engine rated 156 horsepower, in tandem with a 105 kw permanent magnet ac electric motor, which by itself can produce 199 pounds-feet of torque at up to 1500 rpm. Combined net output is 200 horsepower. The hybrid feels like a totally different car than other models, as it slows everything down and makes the vehicle feel bigger. Toyota has been a leader in hybrid technology but the honda accord hybrid seems to have the edge here. Body-colored door handles on all models. the face of the camry se is tweaked, for the better, with body color over the black mesh grille, and more aggressive air intakes in the valance under the bumper. Headlamps are outlined in black, angled, narrow and sleek, with a neat little notch in the line at the bottom. interiorinterior materials are different on different trim levels. Camry l, le and xle use a nice fabric, while the camry se uses a combination of fabric with softex synthetic leather trim. The camry hybrid has its own material, more like the se. Trims are different too: le is silver, xle wood, se silver grain, and hybrid a metallic tech grain. we found the driver's position comfortable, with thoughtful padding for the driver's right leg against the center console, and high armrests. The standard leather is overlapped in an arc with neat stitching, for a saddle-like effect; new passengers will compliment it and maybe run their hands over the seam. The little window for the clock up at the top looks like a hood scoop. instruments on most models are in 3d. The instruments themselves are the same, the only difference is in the rings around the gauges, chrome or satin. the hybrid's panel is the same only prettier. It has optitron meters with white illumination, blue metallic printing, and white lighting pointer. Cargo space in the camry hybrid is 13. 1 cubic feet, a decent-size trunk. trunk space on all other camry models is a roomy 15. 4 cubic feet. the manually operated climate control has big dials and easy buttons on the camry le. Low-rolling-resistance tires are loud on the pavement. there's the optional jbl green edge sound system, which uses up to 58 percent less power and is 27 percent lighter; and ent.
